This is the Logo I created and check off with my team. I wanted to give more of a masculine approach to it. That is why I created the logo with more of the hard lines throughout. At the same time I didn't want that to over power the logo, so I rounded the edges to create balance. Having the white contrast with the other colors helps draw the eye around the composition. The main color is obvious red, I wanted to use that color specifically to draw attention to this logo (this company) and possible away from others competitors. By using red, your eye is drawn immediately to this design and gives a sense of power to it. Also I chose more subtle secondary colors, so it wouldn't compete with the red or the logo. Going along with a few of the Gestalt principles, Law of Pragnanz, Law of Continuity and Law of Closure, you can see that the design is meant to be a house, with a window acting as a bolt for the wrench. I also wanted to have the logo asymmetrical. I feel that gives more interest to it and helps with knowing what it is.
This is the Brochure for Colorite Investments. I continued with the same color scheme on this artifact, so it would create harmony through out the pieces I used. On this I didn't want to use the same layout for the outside and inside of the brochure, but wanted the same colors. On the front I used a vertical layout for the colors, giving you that sense of length. I also made it, so the pictures would be on the same area in each column. That way if the brochure were to be open it would still have that balance when you looked at it. I used that same approach on the inside of the brochure, but did the color scheme horizontal instead of vertical like the front. On here I wanted the pictures to stand out first, then have your eye be drawn downward on each column. I used this same technique on the front, so your eye would always be going vertically when viewing the brochure. On the bottom of the inside, I did do a line of horizontal reading. I did this only, so it would repeat the horizontal use of the colors.
The last thing I did was just something extra. I wanted to create some products for the campaign to give to the potential clients, as an option. The design elements I talked about before continue onto these products. It again shows simplicity and harmony. I did this so the logo would always be present and easy to see on each product. That way you know what company it's for and easy to find.
